Here is a short video about "Moose" who cleans as a form of graffiti -
What do you think? - Do we seen the hidden dirt in our own community? What messages could we spread about the change in 'Our Place' over the past 200 years?
Did Te Puni see the dirt in his day walking in his Pito-One? Or is the dirt within which we live the filth of modern society?
In preparation for the HRSA interschool cross country event to be held in week 4 next term - we have started training some keen and able runners in Kakapo. If you are keen - its not to late to join - as long as you're in Kakapo and can get to various Petone venues at 7:10 on a Friday morning - speak to Mr T or Miss D asap.
This mural was designed by the 2011 year 8 students.
Mr Tavite helped to transform their ideas from an a4 piece of paper onto a large piece of ply.
A selection of students went to mitre ten and chose the colours before
all of the students helped to paint the design at the end of last year.
Mrs Whalen helped to tidy up the borders this year before Mr Jago put it up on the wall yesterday.
A huge Thank You to everyone involved - a great team effort! It looks great in our playground.
Here is a video of a song that has been made into a children's book - Hank the Wrestling Shark. The author is a friend of mine - Gerry Paul - he is a musician who has travelled around the world for the past twelve years playing in several bands including Grada and Two Oceans Trio.
A very accomplished musician - this is his first time writing a book.
You cant see the book as yet - it isnt released until our own book week. However, we can listen to this song and we will have the book in later in the term. Hopefully Gerry might come in to talk to us as well to explain how he came to write this book.
Books can come in all shapes and sizes, for all ages and interests - Lets see if kakapo kids can list all of their favourite books in the comments section of this post....
