A great surprise!

Last Saturday I got a great surprise in the mail!
A wonderful red book - full of inspiration and advice from the Kākāpō students to keep me on track with my study!
With only a few weeks left until I return to the class and have less time to complete my study the book provides a much needed boost in motivation!
Thanks very much Ms D & Kākāpō!

World Class Athlete.... Sophie Pascoe

Kia Ora,
Who has heard of Sophie Pascoe? Hopefully you have had a chance to see her in the news over the past few days of the Paralympics, I doubt whether any Kakapo students will remember her from the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.

In Beijing Sophie was just 15 and won three Gold and one Silver medal!

That's pretty amazing! Already in London she has made a great start and won two gold and one silver.

If you havent heard of her - it is possibly because the Paralympics have had very little coverage in the news media.
Do you think that this is fair?
Compared to the constant exposure of the Olympics the Paralympics have had almost zero media time.

Here is a quick clip so you can learn a bit about Sophie and what it takes to succeed at the highest level in the world.
