All Over Red Rover

As the dust settles on an eventful week in Nelson, the Kākāpō students will be looking back on an exciting week with many fears conquered and challenges faced. It was a great week that was 'non-stop' from go to wo. All students and adults seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves and we will be sharing some of that enjoyment on the Kākāpō 2012 blogsite over the next two weeks.
A huge THANK YOU is owed to many... I will endeavour to list the various groups and people who helped make this camp possible and enjoyable:
  • Vai Lui and Judy Campion organised and applied for grant board funding respectively;
  • Hutt Mana Charitable Trust;
  • Pelorus Trust;
  • Pub Charity;
  • Angela Coffey and Vanessa Tavite for assisting with fundraising organisation;
  • All parents who ran or assisted fundraising events from Balloon Buddies to Lotto raffles to Harry Potter and everything in between;
  • Parents who were able to join us on camp - Brent Pritchard, Keith Stevens, Jason Pahina, Angela Cameron and Cath Fitzgerald;
  • Paul, Carey and Alisha from Teapot Valley Christian Camp - who ran a fantastic camp;
  • Henry from the Interislander who looked after us to and from Picton;
  • Keith the Bus Driver;
  • Smitty and the creww from the Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle;
  • All parents who gave their children everything they needed for camp (including the Camp Fee!), and the love and preayers to bring everyone home safely; and finally...
  • All the Kākāpō students who took up the challenge to GO BEYOND in every possible way on camp.
We will be working on our camp books for a few weeks and will invite parents to share our camp experiences with us in due course.

Until then...

Ping pong / Table Tennis

Not quite sure why the players say Kakapokapoakapokapokakapokakapokakapo half way through but it must be a sign  for Kākāpō kids to gain innovative and creative inspiration from this short clip...
